OUR HOME, OUR PATCH-FREE creative workshops

19th August 2022 @ 11:30 am - 3:30 pm

Free

Aged 12-18?

Want to try a variety of multimedia creative skills?

Have your say, learn about, and take climate action?

Join Artist Lauren Heckler and Poet Emma Beynon for two days of creative adventure at Oriel Davies Gallery. You don’t need to see yourself as creative, just bring your enthusiasm and opinions.

Together we will explore the things that matter to you through up cycling, poetry, drawing, character design, costume, and video. It will be a great opportunity for you to learn new skills and craft your ideas into something new. There will be lots of materials and stationery for you to play with!

About the artists…

Emma Beynon, poet and sailor has sailed in the Arctic, has encountered polar bears and whales, written extensively about her adventures and thoughts but always struggled with her spelling. She has taught creative writing for the past 15 years and is always keen to encounter new poets and ideas.

Lauren Heckler, visual artist, extensive collaborator, and vivid dreamer, has created art in performance, video and installation, exhibiting in places like Conwy, Cardiff, Swansea, Nagoya (Japan), Tranås (Sweden) and London. Lauren has taught artistic skills and critical thinking for the past 8 years and also enjoys encountering new artists and ideas.

These workshops are facilitated by Fair Play, on behalf of the One Planet Generation Project.
